Oooo... Volquartsen goodies. Why not shoot them an email? I imagine they work for all generations of Ruger's 22lr pistols, from the standard to the mk IV.

Tactical Solutions also makes an upper reciever as well.

Although I imagine since the uppers are the serialized firearm you may run into issues getting one.... Unless you're one of the exempt.

I've got a Tac Sol 6" Pac Lite that is pretty rad. If I bought again, I'd spend some hard study time looking at the VQ one though.

I took my MK 2 apart after watching a video. I doubt it was ever field stripped before. It was pretty much a waste of time. After 25 years those hard to see parts were basically clean. In the future i will just do a clean and oil job on what i can get at without a complete disassembly.

I don't know why you would want a MKI. The newer ones are better.

Some of us old guys like to tinker with old things.... I want a old BHP and it will be no better than any of the 4 9mm I currently own.

I have 2 Mk 1s. They can be had used here on the CGN marketplace for $300-$350 if you are patient and diigent.
I picked up a 22/45 for $350 as well. They all work just fine and are in great shape.

Isn't buying an upper for a Ruger Mark xxx problematic for California? The serial number for the Ruger is on the upper, not the frame (maybe that has changed for the Mark IV). Wouldn't that require that an after market upper be on the dreaded list?

To get a Voltquartsen serialized upper in CA is as much a challenge as getting a complete gun. Why not just get a complete Voltquartsen Scorpion?

Nope still on the upper. When someone in CA sent their MKIV in for the recall they were instructed to send only the frame. This frame is just parts so there was no roster problem with the return.
