Base pads for Springfield 1911 mags

What kind of gun?
The reason I ask, is that I have used Springer and Wilson mags in my SA 1911...and now only use (like) the Wilsons...I have found them much easier to load...
So if you are rebuilding mags...might be good to try a couple different ones and see what you like...since you are a newb to the platform.
Good luck...and I am not sure about the answer to your question...Wilson Protector .45, Springer 9mm Loaded, Franchi Instinct SL .12ga. and some other cool stuff for the kiddos... -
Fast is fine, but accuracy is final!

The first ones will work. Not sure about the WC's.

I believe your mags have the welded base plate with 2 spaced holes drilled on the plate. If that's so then you'll need these and they come with self tapping screws. I suggest getting a 4-40 tap and tap wrench so you won't damage the screws or hole.
Does the bottom of your mags look like these? Sans the Tripp mark of course.

Yup! The Ed Brown or Chip should work. I highly advise tapping the holes first, but if you proceed by just screwing the self tapping screws. You should use a proper fitting Phillips screw/bit. Use a full size driver, coat the screws with light oil to prevent galling and buggering up the threads/screw.
I've had some screws that were just too soft to self tap hence the advice to tap the holes. The wise man said just find your place

I use these. They come with screws and you don't need to do any tapping of the existing holes. Just hold the pad on the mag, insert screw and tighten using a small screwdriver. Very easy.

I use these as well, no issues at all. Well, one issue, one came without screws and Midway expedited a new one to me immediately. But they fit perfect on the Loaded MC Operator mags. The first ones will work. Not sure about the WC's.

WARNING! If they are 9mm mags with the spacer in the back, the screw near the spacer needs to be shortened. It lines up with the spring and will turn your 9 round mag into an 8 round mag. Just shorten the screw so it only protrudes about 3/32" through the bumper.Comment
