    Top Compacts/Subcompacts in 9mm

I'm interested in getting a small 9mm pistol. I don't have any particular need for one. Just interested in the form factor and maybe a 'just in case' gun. I don't want something that's not shootable (too uncomfortable/bad ergonomics/etc)

My only experience is with my service pistol M1911 & M9/92F. I own a 92F which I prefer to the .45 because I have big hands, and I prefer to shoot bullets instead of lob them (heresy, I know).

Was considering the CZ2075 RAMI, but what others should I look at? Is something the size of a RAMI too small to be 'shootable'?

G26 is a very popular compact 9mm, you're sure to get more than a few recommendations for it in this thread. The gen3 is on the roster.

That CZ 2075 looks nice but I haven't ever held one myself. It's heavier than a lot of the other compact 9's, but I don't know if that matters to you.

Sig P938 is also very popular, but off-roster. I have its .380 little sister, the 238, and it's one of my favorite handguns.

Glock 43 is also really popular, but I'm not a big fan myself. Held one, and it didn't seem smaller enough than a G26 to justify the added cost and lower capacity. But a lot of people seem to like it. It's off roster as well.

Will this be used for CCW? If so, there are a lot of things to factor in. Size, weight, capacity, controls - if you can clarify whether or not you want things like a single-stack or double-stack magazine, a manual safety, a polymer or metal frame, etc, it'll help us help you

Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

A Kahr MK9 is my daily carry and thats how it will stay for the foreseeable future. Nothing beats an all steel construction.

If you have big hands I would move up from the 26 and seek out the 19

I just picked up a Glock 26 yesterday! With the Gen 4s you get several grip back straps for your choice of size and/ or beaver tail.

The ups side for me is for those of us in the free states is you can use the larger mags as well. Carry with the 10 road and compact size and if you have to reload you can pop in a 15 or 17 round mag. You can even use the 33 round mags in these as well.

Really it is one of the top contenders worth considering

H&K VP9Sk is a solid choice, or if you want to splurge, a Wilson Combat EDC 9 is super nice.

Kahr, sale on CW45 on CDNN
              also CW,CM,PM9
carries easily; uses largest 9mm as backup.
on .45 can use 1911 mags (i think)

I can't believe this has been up 45 minutes and no one has mentioned the elephant in the room:

                  Shield.

Ergo's many people find surprisingly good for its form factor, reliable, lots of after market support, on roster, and cheap. There is still a $75 rebate on them.

If you prefer steel / alloy and DA/SA, I suggest you consider a Sig P239 or CZ 75 PCR, both also on roster.

I'm in the same boat as you and chose the Sig P239. Large enough to be shot comfortably with a full grip but still small enough to be carried. I would not choose a subcompact unless you plan on carrying it a bunch.

Yup, Shield. I have one and dont even CCW. Its just a nice comfortable gun to shoot. And better deal than ever with the promo going on.

S&W shield, kahr MK9 and Beretta Nano were all easy to shoot, with decent triggers and relatively accurate.

If you like the longer DA trigger, you'll love the MK9, one of the smoothest DAO triggers I've tried, the stainless makes it weigh as much as a Glock 26 and it helps to really soak up the recoil.

The shield and nano would be more up your alley if you're into poly guns, the Beretta being the smaller of the two, and with a nicer trigger as well.

The Rami should be fine. Any ranges around you that have a nice assortment of smaller/compact 9mms?
