Maybe not quite what you're asking for, OP, but one not yet suggested is . . . the Bersa Thunder. Relatively inexpensive, and light and compact. But . . . it's a .380, which technically is a 9mm short (but it's not the 9mm round). Lots of folks are very fond of these. In layout it's similar to a Beretta 92, or maybe a 3rd generation Smith & Wesson (which might be another option).

I would not use the same gun for home defense and conceal carry.

For home defense I think the SP2022 is good and it's $500. You can put a weapon light on it as well since it's got a rail. I would not go with the Beretta because it's hard for people with smaller hands to reach the DA and a model with rail is hard to find these days (on roster one that is).

SP2022 cheap and affordable, great shooter. Good amount of options out there, HK p2000 as well. . HK USP compact.

Thanks all. I decided to go with a P239 as it feels the best in my hand and I shot it the best. I'll probably go used since it's so expensive new. Love that single stack grip and the magazines are enjoyable to load up.

The P2000 is a nice shooter but I do not like the mag release at all and have trouble engaging it one handed.

Another vote for the H&K P2000. I have two, they are great.

You should look into a P2000 or USP compact with the LEM trigger setup as well if you consider an H&K. I have a P2000 with the light LEM trigger and it feels amazing. It's not really a DA/SA, more like best of both worlds.

You can't go wrong with the P239. And you can always have it upgraded by Sig with action enhancement and short reset trigger.

These are all great suggestions. Thank you, everyone.
                I have the P239, P-01, HK P2000, and Beretta 92FS.

I'm 5'9" with Medium sized hands. The P239 is my absolute most favorite in its stock configuration. The P-01 is my favorite overall, but that's because it's a CGW. I love the P2K, but mine is in the V2 LEM trigger. Beretta is the largest and is now my HD gun.

I was wondering how long it would take. Frankly, I'm surprised it took this long.

OP, you made a great choice with the P239. I have two of them, and that's two more than the grand total of Glocks I own. Now start saving for a P229, P226, or P220.

Best way to decock a G19 is to shoot all the byllets out.
Sig 239 has been on my short list for a long time though.
                      Seems perfect for ccw.

Find a used Sig P229 non-CA version. It's the double stack variant of the P239 essentially. You could probably get one for about $650. You absolutely cannot beat the Sig SRT for DA/SA type pistols.

Otherwise, HK P2000 would be my recommendation. I'm not too fond of the SP2022, but it'll work if you like it.

Any suggestions on where to look for a used P239?

Some in the marketplace, but most seem to be in socal.

HK USP compact, P2000, CZ P01 & CZ PCR get my vote.
