    Roster and shipping question

Sold a beretta to another calgunner and shipped it to southern Cali. The gun is an on roster model, it has aftermarket grips and a Wilson hammer and srt trigger. The receiving ffl says they won't release it and are sending it back because the aftermarket parts.

Anyone have an experience like this or know anything about this kind of situation? Wondering if it's just this FFL or this is how it is going to be everywhere?

Doesn't sound like something that should be an issue, but that's just my personal opinion based on experience. I'm not an FFL or a lawyer though so there may be something I'm not aware of.

I'd ask the question in the FFL forum.

The parts changed make the gun not-as-Rostered. The FFL is correct to refuse the transfer in this situation.

What can't be changed we can guess by this bit of the Penal Code
        32030.

        (a) A firearm shall be deemed to satisfy the requirements of subdivision (a) of Section 32015 if another firearm made by the same manufacturer is already listed and the unlisted firearm differs from the listed firearm only in one or more of the following features:

        (1) Finish, including, but not limited to, bluing, chrome-plating, oiling, or engraving.

        (2) The material from which the grips are made.

        (3) The shape or texture of the grips, so long as the difference in grip shape or texture does not in any way alter the dimensions, material, linkage, or functioning of the magazine well, the barrel, the chamber, or any of the components of the firing mechanism of the firearm.

        (4) Any other purely cosmetic feature that does not in any way alter the dimensions, material, linkage, or functioning of the magazine well, the barrel, the chamber, or any of the components of the firing mechanism of the firearm.
Manufacturers who change these things on a model already on the Roster may add the changed gun to the Roster without testing - changing any of these things makes the model different from the one on the Roster.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

That is a ridiculous law.....I'm certain that could have been handled a bit differently. That just seems a little out there...grips, hammer, and srt that blows op maybe you have the stock parts still but a huge hassle nonetheless
