Glock 19 Appreciation Post

One other reason it's a favorite is the simplicity in working on them. With just over 20 parts total and about one or two tools needed to strip down to bare metal and polymer, not hard to be a DIY gunsmith on these. Was never a fan of Glock til shooting them. We go together now like peas and carrots.Comment

Before the end of SSE I was in Riflegear deciding on my first 9mm purchase. I was there looking for a 19 but after handling it I couldn't get over the way the bottom of the grip hit the heel of my hand and ended up buying a Gen 4 17 instead.
some prefer to shoot and some prefer to fondle ... Glock owners, as a rule, are the formerComment

Bought my Gen 2 G19 new many moons ago at the old Reeds in S.J. Has been an excellent gun ever since. My only Glock, see no need for any others!

We should just call the glock 19 "The California 9".I dreamed of owning a (insert off roster gun here)...
Oh yeah....then the earth splits open with me on one side and the (off roster gun) on the other. Then appeared a large red-glowing pit with gavin newscum, diane frankenstein and governor "brown the drain" at the bottom of it, waving their pitchforks at me.

Some skate tape, nail polish on front sight, and a comp slide release are all my 10 yr old G19 need to reach "Perfection". I try to feed it a steady diet of Tula and Brown Bear but sometimes splurge on PMC bronze.
Enjoy the quality Streamlight units, too. Thanks for sharing how ya'll rock your Glock!!!

About 15 years ago when my wife and I got our CCWs, my wife was interested in looking at 9mm handguns. I had a Taurus at the time and while she liked it, she wanted to try others.
We visited our favorite LGS and she fell in love with the G19 right away. At the time, I thought of Glocks as about as attractive as a lump of coal. But, I did not influence her decidion and she bought the G19.
Two weeks later, the Taurus was put up for sale and I bought a G19 for myself. my wife was right (as well as her choice of an S&W Airweight a few years later - which resulted in me getting one too).
Truly incredible handgun, the only thing I have done is put a set of Tru-Glo sights on it (as well as on my wife's G19 and my G36).
Love it.

I have the 23 and I didn't quite like it's size, so when I went for a 9mm Glock, I chose the 17 (and 34). Just a matter of hand fit. Let's face it, they are all the same, just grip size is different.==================

Remember to dial 1 before 911.
Forget about stopping power. If you can't hit it, you can't stop it.
