    Glock sight heights?

    I've been looking for a black rear sight, fiber optic front combo and settled on dawson precision.

    Now my only problem is the sight heights. I have a G17, G20, G29 all gen 3s. I'm going with .225 tall by .135 wide rear sights. Now for my fronts I'm under the impression they may all be different heights for the different calibers/models?

    What's sizes would I need for POA/POI at 10-25 yards?

    Depends on what distance you are looking to engage in. Here's a calculator that makes things easier.

      If your stock sights give you a correct POI/POA then just go with the same front to rear difference as the stock ones. If the POI with the stock sight is wrong you will need to calculate the needed change.

        Fronts are the same. Rears on Glocks are 4 different heights:

        The dashes on the side of the sight tell the story. Long - POA, short - POI. standard sight has only one long dash because POA=POI.

        This should make it easier to figure out which heights you want for your new sights as suggested above. Keep the differences between the front and rear the same if satisfied with original sight alignment.

          Simple answers: .215" for the G17; .195" for the G20 & G29.

          I believe the .225" Dawson rear sight height doesn't include the depth of Glock's dovetail (~.079" or round up to .08"). Glock's 6.5mm and 6.9mm sight heights include the 2mm dovetail depth.

          In inches, the stock G17 sight heights are .165"/.256" front/rear, respectively.
          G20/G29 are .165"/.272" front/rear.

          The proposed .225" Dawson rear, adding the .08" dovetail depth is .305".
          Maintaining the same front/rear height differences is then:
          G17 = .215"/.305"
          G20/29 = .195"/.305"
          all rounded off to the nearest thousandths commonly sold sight heights.
