Hey guys! New member coming in from Texas. I'm bringing in a sweet, brand new H&K VP9 FDE that will eventually have four extra 10 round magazines. I know the ins & outs of selling in CA, so no questions there. My question is the best way to list it for selling? I know there is a classified here and I've also used Armslist. I'm looking to get it to someone in a fair manner...no price gouging. Any idea of what a fair price would be? Thanks in advance!

Not that I would ever sell but if I did........Id use the Calgun site and locate someone with a proven trader rating. There are some flaky people out there....welcome back to California.Comment

800 would be in the ballpark for a "non-gouging" price, but 1K could probably be gotten.
As stated above, selling here to a member with a good I-trader rating is a good place to start.
Armslist has had a number of issues at times.

OP, if you sell your gun at the price you bought it, it only amounts to a gift to a stranger, no more, no less. And you only benefit one person. It's awful nice of you, but wouldn't you want to keep one for yourself? After you've moved, you will NOT be able to get one unless you pay at a market value.
I'd say $1000-1100 is a fair market value, but I haven't sold or bought a handgun since last year in this state.Last edited by beanz2; 08-02-2017, 7:49 AM.sigpic

Again, I'm just trying to get a feel for what I can realistically expect to be offered. Armslist has them starting at $900 and most of the ads have been posted for a few days. Not sure if they are used or not, haven't dug into the listings that much. Considering I'll have six mags in total and it will remain as new, I feel good about the $1,000 range.

beanz2 - I'm a 1911 guru but also have a 92A1 with 17 round mags that I had to buy blocks for. I was enlightened to the fact that several off roster pistols were in demand so I acquired it for someone that might want it. After having owned a Glock, I simply don't like the feel of composite guns. Not knocking them at all, the reviews on this gun are great.
