LEM and DAK triggers...

As a follow up to my previous post questioning the similarities (or dissimilarities) of the LEM and Glock triggers, how do the LEM and DAK triggers compare?

Are you asking mechanically or operationally… Mechanically I do not believe there is anything out there like the LEM

LEM has an internal hammer that is pre-cocked, DAK is "pull from scratch" every time.

Almost.

DAK actually has an intermediate reset and, what feels like, a half-cock. If you pull DAK trigger about half way, it will "click" as it reaches one of the reset points. If you now release the trigger and pull again, the pull is lighter since the hammer is indeed resting at a half-cock. When you pull the trigger all the way and then manually cycle the slide, as you start releasing you'll first hit a "short reset" - the trigger resets, but the pull is pretty heavy from there. If you release further, you reach another reset and the pull is now the same as when you were first squeezing the trigger and reached the half cock - slightly lighter than the basic pull.

I cannot describe it more than that. You'd have to feel it and play with it to figure out how it all works and feels. It has three pull weights and two resets.

LEM is much simpler - it's either pre-cocked or not. Heavy pull or light(er) pull.

(I have several LEMs, including at least one I converted myself, and a Sig 224 SAS with DAK.)

I'm a fan of the LEM triggers. When I bought my P2000SK, had I fired one with an LEM trigger I would not be carrying one that is SA/DA...

I agree the LEM is a good trigger. I never shot the DAK

The DAK on a 10-round Sig is like carrying a 10+1 revolver.
Personally, I like the DAK, and I have them on my CCW.

I've shot both extensively. 5 different SIGs (220, 226, & 229) and 4 H&Ks (P2000 & P30)

I prefer the DAK for it's cleaning letoff. I find the LEM a bit mushy.

Having said that, I have to say I've never utilized the DAK's shorter reset point, because I've always let the trigger all the way out when resetting the trigger

I hope so, I have a P2000 9mm v2 LEM in jail right now. I have been using the P2000 v3 for like 5 years now and finally tried the LEM a few weeks back. Liked it a bunch so I picked one up. I bought the springs to convert it to light LEM. I can't wait to pick it up next week.

I don't own either but I've shot both.

DAK is awful. Hard to figure out where you are in the trigger pull.

LEM is fine. Easy. Not to my taste but I can see a value to it.

Carry the dak at work. I really like it, some post above is incorrect info. The first reset is heavier then letting it all the way out. It's very smooth and shootable when you know what your doing.

That is what make the DAK a better trigger. Without knowing, you'll just keep pressing the trigger straight to the rear like you're supposed to

Disagree I think the VP nine trigger is better
Don't get me wrong I still like the LEM and have a couple . Also need to say that the HK expert 9 mm trigger is very good to

Also I was able to shoot a P 30 SK LEM back to back with a P 30 SKS . In this model the LEM trigger and the single action trigger break are very very much alike , In THe p30SK I would compare the LEM trigger to a single action only with a very light initial take up
