    German Engineering

Looking through the marketplace as often as I do, I will occasionally find a unique pistol that I have been wanting for a while. A couple of weeks ago, there were several HK P9's in the classifieds and I just missed an opportunity to purchase one.

Although the seller had tried to communicate via pm with me, I was a little too late to reply and he had sold it to someone else nearby. Oh well, no big deal and I thanked the seller for the opportunity.

He contacted me and said he has a friend near where I live who might be selling a similar handgun for what he was asking for his pistol. I told him I was very interested and he could pass along my information to his friend.

Long story short, I was able to make contact with this new seller and purchase something that I have been in the market for a long time.

I can't express how amazed I am with German engineering and the delayed roller lock systems in their older weapon systems. Although not a delayed roller lock design, I have 2 'squeeze' cockers that are nonetheless equally as impressive.

Anyway......here are some photos of my BRAND NEW IN A BEAT UP BOX HK P9s Combat in .45 ACP

And of course, the wife doesn't know about this purchase..........

Sweet find! Is that a factory test target? How many yards was it shot at?

This is one of the coolest posts I've seen on CalGuns. Great how that worked out with the buyer who your original sale fell thru with. Beautiful firearm and that old beat up packaging is really cool. Congrats!

Makes me wonder why the delayed roller never took off seriously among gun makers/designs/manufacture. Too complex? Too expensive?

Congrats, yours is a beautiful example. I love the P9. Have one in 9mm. Imagine a pistol coming out today where you have to pull the trigger to decock it Speaking of triggers, the p9s has an amazing single action trigger. If you haven't already, pick up a couple new buffers. Mine is still fine and lasted a long time but if lube and oil get down into the buffer housing it can have a deteriorating effect on the rubber buffer. Bad buffers can lead to eventual frame cracks.

I never knew they made a P9 in 45ACP, or I forgot they did.

If you want to see a POS HK, take a look at the VP70. I think the trigger pull was somewhere around 100 pounds.
