1911 ?

Does anyone have problems feeding hollow points with their 1911, if so what kind are the most reliable to use?

every gun will have it's own preference on what it wil/will not feed, so you shouldn't chose your defense ammo on someone elses opinion.

All my 1911s feed hollow points without problems. Try them all out in your 1911s.

I have a springfield TRP and when i try to load my PMC starfires it jams up on the first round, should I try another brand?

i have 5 different 1911.
the only one that had issues was the les bear. with the first 300 rounds, one will experience ftf in any ammo because these are built very tight. after that, i would fire anything i feed it with no more issues.

try a different load and maybe use other magazines. find a combination of the 2 that works for you.

i agree with wrenchhead, sometimes magazines can cause the jams.

i would try the ammo first! How many rounds have you put threw the gun?

Take 300 rounds to the rage and call us in the morning! Never believe the 1911 critics, a properly made 1911 should have no problem feeding a serious defensive round.

There should be nothing wrong with it, but I would try some more ammo before sending it back to the mfg, it may take a good month to get it back! Good excuse to go back to the range!

My TRP only had problems feeding 1 type of ammo. Reloads bought at a range. I never tried Hollowpoints during the first 500ish rounds, but it fed FMJ flawlessly. Then I fired about 100 rounds of Hollowpoints and didn't skip a beat.

However I am using Wilson Combat ETMs and they are known for being great quality. I would invest in some good mags, they will pay for themself next time you go to the range or if you have to use them in a HD situation.
