    Bond Arms

If CA has a rooster exemption for single action handguns, shouldn't we be able to get any Bond Arms model besides .410?

I, for one, don't want poultry armed.

But I would like their new 9mm semi.

That's where the phrase, "fully cocked", comes from.

Still has to meet size requirements to be exempt.

7.5 inches oal I think is what it is.

No, ROOSTER list is correct. After all, it is just some chicken shirt!

              Pass.

Bond arms is an idea I would REALLY like to get behind. I love the idea of a big bore derringer, 45 colt, 45/70, etc.

But the way they designed their solution, it's bigger than a walther PP. The gun should be just wider than the barrel, and just bigger than a cell phone. The Bond arms is huge.

So I'm not interested. It's a great idea, executed to the 90% level.

I think the reason you can't get some models in CA is because if they are compatible with the 410 barrel change, they think that's not gonna be compliant.

Damn shame because the Snake Slayer IV would be perfect when I'm on the mower and run across rattlers and gophers. I've beeen using my snubbie .357 but after one shot the plastic shot shells in the remaining chambers pop loose and jam the cylinder.

I'd be making my own shotshells then.

I'd be forming my own 357 max brass to neck down so the shoulder was at 38 sp length but the neck slip-fit the cylinder neck, then load up and glue on an over-shot card.

If it was actually useful for my 460 with 3" cylinder, I'd have already done exactly that with 9.3x74R cases. I could easily see that being useful for a snub 357.

Bond arms makes quality guns but they are huuuuuuge for what they are. You can get 2 shots from the CA model Big Bear for about the same weight/size as a Glock 36. I much prefer something like a P238 with a loaded weight about that of the BA empty.

For snake days I carry my old High-Standard .22 mag derringer. About as flat and light as derringers can get.
