    Bobtail

Got it last Friday and found my way to the range.

This pistol was used but new and had a round count of 300 when I got it. I've put another 320 through it and I have to say it - this WILL be my carry gun should I ever need one. Totally reliable, accurate and just feels damn good in my hand.

I shoot a cast 230g TC over 5.3g W231 and this Bobtail feeds it like poop through a goose. I'm confident enough with this pistol to take it hog hunting. With a 230g TC moving @ 800fps, it will do the job - no doubt.

Slide to frame fit - outstanding!

I took the center out of 6 targets so far. I'm jazzed to say the least. Well worth the effort I expended to make this happen.

is the bobtail a reference to the hard tail grip safety or the mainspring housing?

Dan Wesson revolvers proved themselves in competition many years ago. Their 1911s are outstanding as well.

It's the mainspring cut out for additional comfort carrying -

                      Tanx Saigon/ That's a great design.

I've replaced all my 1911 mainspring housings with rounded ones. And on second look that grip safety doesn't look like a hard tail.

Nice CBOB, I was eyeing that one myself. Still holding out for one with a SS hammer but if I had any common sense I'd just buy one aftermarket and swap it out.

AFAIK, the SS hammers were STI products and the blued ones are Ed Brown.

I like Ed Brown parts, so when I saw this, I jumped on it.
