    Impressed with Springfield EMP

    Wow, what a gun.
Went to the range last Friday an am really impressed.
I have a new Springfield Armory 1911 EMP 3" 9mm. Really fun gun to shoot, accurate, xlnt trigger, 100% reliable right out of the box. The wife usually shoots a Colt Detective Special in 38 Spl. because it is heavy (for a snub nose revolver) and helps with recoil. She also doesn't have a lot of arm strength, so heavy pistols are tiring for her.
I think she may replace her Colt with the Springfield as her ccw.

I carry an EMP. It is a good pistol, but I do have some issues shooting it well due to its size. I have fairly large hands and the small single stack grip causes me some issues.

I saw pics of one a few days ago.

            It's a handsome pistol.

It's one of my favorite pistols to take to the range and spend time with....mine has never had a hiccup. It's a nice pistol all around

The Pachmayr Colt Officer grips fit the 3" EMP and really increase the grip size. Inexpensive (the grips that is) and highly recommended.

I carry one. It shoots a lot like my 5" 1911 9mm comp guns. I put a Harrison short trigger on it along with some VZ grips that were smoother than the stock ones.

I had an issue with it a few months ago. 50% light primer strikes out of the blue. Sent it back to SA and I got it back in a couple of weeks. Been great since. Need to keep practicing with it as I just don't shoot it much.

For me, it's the perfect carry gun since I compete with 1911's.

The EMP 4 alleviates these issues and would be perfect, making up for all the 3" lacks
