Buying an off-roster handgun under 21.

Eventually I intend to be buying an off-roster M&P9 when I see one available and within my budget. However, I'm under the age of 21. Does the 21 year limit apply to PPTs? I heard of parent-child transfers having different rules, and I've seen no indication that posession of a handgun between 18-21 would be illegal. I haven't been able to find any laws that would prohibit me from buying a used handgun from another individual, though I could be mistaken.

What's the process like for me?

I suggest you ask this in the "How California Laws Affect/Apply to Me" section.

Good luck, but to buy a handgun, 21 is the age.

If you post the new thread, ask about a parental gift, not sure if that if OK or not.

You can not buy a handgun in Ca if you are under 21 period. There is an exemption for family transfer though.
Norman Thomas said this in a 1944 speech:
"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of "liberalism," they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." He went on to say: "I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democratic Party has adopted our platform."

inner family transfer. 18+ must be a GIFT!

27875 (was 12078(c)(2)) also means parents or grandparents can transfer handguns to children or grandchildren 18 or older. Since it's illegal for dealers to transfer handguns to people under 21, this is the way people 18, 19 and 20 can legally receive handguns. (Penal Code 25605 (was 12026) is quite clear that those 18 and over can "own, possess, [and] keep ..." a pistol or revolver.)

Good news. There's a slew of off roster pistols for sale. I saw a ton of them recently, of course they weren't "off roster" because I was traveling in free America. And check this out. You can go into a gun store, plop down some money, show a drivers license, wait about 5 minutes for the instant check, then be on the way with a new pistol.

And even better news, you can go in the next day and buy another one. Because the only 1 in 30 laws they have is if you haven't bought a new gun in 30 days you're considered delinquent, and they come to your house, haul you to a gun store and make you buy a gun.

Here's something you're not going to believe. They have public ranges. But see, these public ranges are maintained by the parks and rec departments, or the wildlife management departments, or whatever. But the point is some cities maintain soccer fields, some cities maintain shooting ranges. Yeah, when I tell you there are city maintained ranges you're thinking I'm on crack. But I'm not. I have pictures.

Oh, and you can even get a permit to carry. And you can get class 3 and other NFA type stuff, as long as you have the federal stamp stuff. And you won't have to get a molon labe shirt and tattoo because everyone around you feels the same about gun rights. And at just part of the culture. It's not a big deal because at just so normal. Until the democrats in DC get a big up their a** and think they can run roughshod over the 2A, then they get pretty riled up. No doubt about that.

So I suggest you focus on living free. You're young. This state is going to get only a whole lot worse. Do not take on tons of debt for a worthless college degree that will bind you for decades. Get out f this fascist sh**hole of a state as soon as you can.

And words like roster and featureless will be unknown.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

Yes, must be 21 to PPT a handgun. You must be 21 to transfer on a form 4473, any handgun or any firearm classified as 'other'. So the only way to get one is from a direct family member who is a resident in the same state as you are.
