    P229 scorpion clone

How goes it calgunners? Just thought I'd share my p229 scorpion clone. So my LGS was selling off govt contracted issues weapons which so happened to be the p229 (no Ca version) for pretty cheap. It was $460 out the door with tax and dros. Round count?? Unknown..but who cares it's a p229 off roster!! Any who, there was obvious holster wear and the finish on the barrel was coming off but other than that everything else seemed fine. Off I start to rebuilding this gun with the scorpion look in mind. Here's a list of what I bought and some mods I did (I did the work myself except for cerakoting)

-Wolf 16lb recoil spring with firing pin spring (figured I'd replace this since it was pretty cheap)

    -17lb wolf hammer spring

    -Short trigger

    -SRT

    -Hogue g10 grips

    -LPA adjustable sights

    -Hogue hex screws

    -Front strap checkering (30lpi)

    -Rounded the trigger guard

    -Under cut the trigger guard

-polished all internal contact points so it's a smooth DA with a clean break and SA breaks about 3.5-4lbs

All in all with the cerakote, I probably could of gotten an on roster p229 elite but where's the fun in that!?!? Lastly I want to thank Mark over at PWG for the awesome cerakote job!!

Here's my thoughts. Since you did it (and very well I might add) I would have went with a darker FDE. You front serrations are great but that trigger guard under cut out shines it. That's a really good job. Congrats!

I'd buy one for 460. Damn

Which LGS? I see you are in San Diego and referenced PWG, maybe I'll have to drop in that LGS regularly and cross my fingers on that kind of deal???

Thanks for all of the comments. A member had pointed out to me that the serial # are different from the (original stock form to the after scorpion transformation) which it is. Reason being is because I ended buying 2 of them because of the price. Now I'm debating if I want to do an equinox clone as well!?!?! I bought it from PWG but it was only a special sale for members but the sales do go out to the public. We just gets first dibs!!

Thank you mlevan..I guess I can use and abuse it till finish starts to wear and them come back with a darker finish when time permits.
