    Kriss Vector/transfer/Advice

I asked this question on a different threat before. I know that you can use ArMaglock's and others for rifles. Is there anything that has been done to allow people to transfer guns like a Kriss Vector.

    Thank you

Currently, there is no new mechanism for the KRISS Vector firearm that will create a fixed magazine.

Because it is a semi-auto pistol that accepts magazines outside of the pistol's grip, the KRISS Vector SDP pistol is classified as an assault weapon under CA laws. [PC 30515(a)(4)(D)]

If the Vector SDP pistol has a "bullet button" style magazine lock and it was acquired before 01-01-2017, then an exemption for possession is granted until 01-01-2018. [PC 30680]

This exemption is for possession only and does not provide an exemption for offering to sell or transfer while in CA.
^It is a felony to offer for sale (advertise) an assault weapon in CA. [PC 30600(a)]

In order to legally offer it for sale or transfer it in CA, it must be made CA legal by doing one of the following:

      A. Making it into a semi-auto pistol with a fixed magazine.
^In order to be considered a fixed magazine, the magazine needs to be installed in such a manner that it can not be removed without diassembling the firearm's action or by permanently affixing (weld/epoxy/rivet) it to the magazine well.
^Since there is currently not mechanism that allows a magazine to be installed so that it can not be removed by disassembling the firearm's action, the only option for fixed magazine is to weld/epoxy/rivet a magazine into the magazine well.

      B. Disassembling it into parts.
      ^Reciever + parts kit.

      C. Make it into a featureless semi-auto rifle.
^The barrel length will need to be increased to 16" or greater and the overall length will need to be increased to 30" or greater. Barrel length increases will need to be permanently attached.
