I've been wanting to carry a gun with my bike under 12026.1, but the literal language of 'within a motor vehicle' has me turned off on using a backpack.
My FZ6 has a locking container under the seat (similar to a trunk) but: a) it's somewhat exposed to the elements (via the holes around the frame) and thus not 'fully enclosed', and b) I don't have any way to carry it concealed once I get to my destination without an additional locking bag.
I built a prototype waterproof locking bag out of Tyvek, but it wasn't secure enough. So while looking around for other options, I came across my perfect solution: a bank deposit bag.
It's got a secure reinforced zipper lock (secure enough to store funds), it's water resistant, and it doesn't look alarming. Best of all, you can get them at any office supply place, and they're cheap (around $20).
