Barrel de-threading work in Orange County

Any shops or smiths that remove threads and keep, or redo original barrel finish? I'd like the barrel to look as "original" as possible.

    Any leads appreciated.

If you want the original barrel to remain as "original" as possible, buy a second non-threaded barrel.

It's what I did a few months ago for my FNX-T; bought a non-threaded barrel from EFK.

Second this. Possession of a threaded barrel is not illegal, as long as it is not on your firearm. It would be similar cost to get a second barrel I imagine.
What type of pistol are you wanting this for? Lots of manufacturers sell original barrels.

While the best way would be to buy a non-threaded barrel, sometimes that is not an option.

I had to buy a seconded threaded barrel for my Mark 23 because a non-threaded one was not available at the time. Then I had the barrel cut and crowned by Dave's Metal Works.

Ya, i was hoping to forgoe a new barrel. HK parts has been out of stock on the non-threaded replacement for a while now. I will look up Dave's Metal Works.

I would imagine turning the barrel to remove the threads would necessitate the adding of metal and then turning the barrel back down to the proper diameter.
Or thread a coupler with the proper threads on to the barrel and then turn it down to the proper size.

Pin and weld it? Simple lathe op? I'd imagine it would be easy to do in a lathe.
