    Glock 29

So I just DROSd one. I've done my due diligence in determining whether or not I should get the SF model. I have to say, when I held both, I could not differentiate between the two.

The sales rep even switched them up behind his back, gave me one each (without me looking) and asked if I knew what version I was holding. I couldn't tell.

For $499 and a box of ammo, it was my deciding factor. Does anyone else notice the difference?

Glock only makes the SF and Gen 4 models for the Glock 29. They stopped making the standard 29 several years ago.

So I bought the discontinued model? Guess that's why it was $50 cheaper and included a box of ammo. Oh well...again I didn't notice any difference. I bet I couldn't tell the difference from shooting them either, which I obviously haven't done.

Just use the word "RARE" when you refer to it and everyone will think you got great deal.

Glock recently released a batch of previously discontinued non sf models, including the 29.

I like the G29 so much I bought two in OD. Normal frame. Big hands.

            One is unfired. My spare.

Not according to the Glock website. They still list the 29 regular frame. You have to select the 10mm and click on it. Then you will see that they still make three different versions for the subcompact: G29, G29SF and G29 Gen4 along with 3 full size versions plus the G40.

According to this page on the Glock website https://us.glock.com/products/all they no longer list the standard model. Put your mouse pointer over the G29 image.

Great choice. I bought a Gen 4 G29 as my last gun at the end of SSE. Last summer I carried while hiking in bear country in Glacier and Yellowstone. I had the 15 round G20 mags with the X-gripe sleeves. It gave me a place to put my pinky and with 15+1 rounds I felt sufficiently armed.

The G29 and the new ammo laws have combined to finally get me to reload. I get my Dillon 650 next month.
Anyone can look around and see the damage to the state and country inflicted by bad politicians.

A vote is clearly much more dangerous than a gun.

Why advocate restrictions on one right (voting) without comparable restrictions on another (self defense) (or, why not say 'Be a U.S. citizen' as the requirement for CCW)?

If you click on that and then click the 10mm button, you will see all the choices I posted with that pic.

After selling my G20, and wanting a smaller 10mm for hiking/woods carry; I bought the regular G29 (vs G29sf) a couple of months ago because it came with factory night sights. It has a not-too-bad grip circumference for my medium sized hands, but the pinky extensions for the mags are a must. I've added a 21lb recoil spring for hot loads and just ordered a KKM 4.5 inch nitride coated barrel for range fun. Good choice, OP!

Thanks gents!!I did buy the 21lb spring and a 4.5" KKM barrel (matte). I believe this sticks out about a .75 inches from the frame??

This will be on my CCW. Will the longer barrel be an issue? I ordered from Underwood so far for ammo. 180gr XTP, 220gr Hard cast, and 135gr jacket hallow point. S&B is selling some of there 180gr for $13.99 a box. I think this is good range ammo...?

I'll use the XTP for HD, and HC for wood carry. 135 is super hot, I just wanted to try it out. Reloading is not an option right now.

Is there any other brand (gr/ bullet) that I should look into for HD?
