    Kimber K6s "recall?"

On May 31st I Dros'd a Kimber K6s. The dealer called me today and said they would issue a refund as all Kimber K6s' had been recalled to the factory. Did not find anything about that on the internet.

    FUD?

Also, wonder if I still have to wait another 30 days to buy a replacement?

Dude. I hope you do not have to wait but as I understand it, DROS is per serial number so you may have to wait again. That would so suck. Its bad enough having to wait 10 days.

Really hope I am wrong. GL

Yeah they screwed up and didn't put the exposed hammer on them like they should have.

I couldn't find a K6s recall on Kimber's website. I found other recalls but none for the revolver. FUB? BS?

              Call Kimber and ask.

Fwiw, I spoke with Kimber customer service yesterday about the availability of the night sight model SKU#3400004 and they said they have started to ship in the last few weeks. There was no mention of any recall. Nothing on the Kimbertalk revolver forum either.

Update posted below about new thread on Kimbertalk

A local store pulled them all yesterday in my area. They told me they just got off the phone with the Kimber rep and were told to pull them. No reason was given. The rep didn't even know why.

                      Copied from Kimbertalk...

".....I just spoke with Montana at Kimber and he said the guns that are affected were made between May 19th-June 6th and that is because LocTite wasn't used enough on four screws. They are the 2 side panel, crane and cylinder release screws.

He said it was a precautionary recall because some of the K6's are being returned after a couple hundred rounds with loose screws. Once they receive them they are trying to fix/return them in 48 hours."

Ah, you got a live somebody. Thanks for getting to the bottom of it for me. My LGS says they have one K6s that wasn't recalled. May have them dros that one after I inspect it. Still kind of wary about the one in thirty day thing.

Anyway, thanks for you input. I
