What is a decent price for a used 2012 Dan Wesson Commander Classic .45?

Nice condition , no box, no magazines.

How do they compare with NEW Colt?

I own both, the DW CBOB is a nice weapon, well made and accurate. A 2012 without mags and box is worth between $900-1100.00 depending on condition.
The Colt in stainless is also a well made weapon, the commander size .45 new sells for about $1300.00 since it's "off-roster" in california. The resale value of the colt is higher. The DW is on roster and retails new for approximately $1500.00. The older CBOB's were made with a cast frame instead of forged, not certain about the 2012 model.

I agree with drdanno, without the box and mags, $1100 tops...maybe $1200 to the right person if it's really clean.

IIRC, 2005-2009 = Cast frames and 2010- present are forged frames.

900-1100 a good range... doubt u'd get it for $900, if there's one for $900, I'd jump on it.

I have the Black Duty Valor, Black Duty VBOB, and CCO.

I think they are very well made and a bargain compared to high end 1911s considering their price and quality. No MIM parts and they have had well fitted forged slides and frames since 2010. I own two of them...2015 vintage. A 2012in "nice" condition will probably be $1,200ish without the box or mags. They are made better than the new Colts IMO but the Colts have gone up big time since they're all off roster now. I won't part with my old SS Colt Commander but it's nowhere near the quality of my CBOB.
