.22 conversion vs dedicated .22 pistol

I am thinking to get either a conversion .22 kit for my Glock or buy a dedicated .22 pistol (Walther P22). What do you think is a better way to go?

22 conversion for the glock from advantage arms is a blast.
Just as reliable as a Ruger Mk II.
I would get a dedicated pistol also just for kicks.

although you have a good idea, im guessing that you would never be able to find a new gun that was such a good deal that it couldnt wait one day lol and ppt you can do however many you want lol,,,

but I would go for the walther, but i just like having an extra pistol, just in case

I have conversion kits for my Glock 17 and 1911 pistols. The Advantage Arms for the Glock is the best. For the 1911, the Marvel Unit 1 is the best so far. I also have an AA for 1911, but it's not as accurate as the Marvel, although it does lock the slide on an empty mag.

The 22 conversion kit is the way to go. Saves money you can spend on magazines and ammo, and you continue to get the look and feel of the Glock. Works for me.

I have a glock 19 with a ciener .22 kit it is the least ammo sensitive i feed it wal-mart federal 550 value pack with no problem. I got it off craigslist for $150. Advantage Arms from what I've read they like mini mags only.

Get a Ruger Mk2. Walther's are ughhh hhmmm i will reserve my opinion but consider a Ruger.

Dedicated 22s aren't that expensive.

I had an AA conversion for my G34 and I just didn't like it as much as all my other 22 pistols.

I love my Beretta 87 Target but it isn't for everyone.

I went out and bought my Walther instad of dealing with a conversion. My Walther was built and designed for .22 therefore I should have less problems, and if I ever find a girlfriend that is interested in shooting I can offer her something nice and easy to start off with

I chose to go with a Ruger MKIII 22/45

The P22's a fun plinker, but not very accurate or solid. It's no good for accuracy training, as you'll never get small groups with it, but for kids, new shooters, and plinkers, it's fun if you get a reliable one. Conversion kits are fine, but I find myself grabbing dedicated .22s much more often.

I'd buy a MKII, Buckmark, or something similar if it were me.

I've put 4600+ rounds through my Beretta conversion kit. That Federal 550 bulk ammo runs perfectly through it.

As a fairly new shooter, still working on muscle memory, i just couldn't go from a huge Beretta grip to the very slim 22/45 grip during the same range session.

I say conversion kit for the practice/plinkers. Dedicated target 22 for the "dime" shooters.

If you're trusting your life with your Glock, then more practice with it will only sharpen your skills (i.e. trigger pull, form, breathing, etc.). Since HD is my main concern, this is what I suggest. It prevents you from picking up any habits using a different process with a different gun.

For plinking and for extra trigger time on your HD weapon get a conversion kit.

If you want target accuracy get a dedicated .22 handgun. But a P22 is not a target pistol.
