I'm thinking of picking one up. I only have 2 .45 pistols and they are my absolute favorite to shoot: Springfield trp full rail and glock 21sf. The only other 45 I set my eyes on is the HK 45 expert. Plus they seem pretty cheap now days.

Is HK 45 EXPERT WORTH IT?

I messed with one the other day. Mushy trigger, large for what it is, unneccessarily expensive mags, and the sights left alot to be desired.Comment

Don't know anything about HK's but have you considered the CZ97?Comment

HK triggers are not for everyone. I on the other hand absolutely love them, stacking and all. They just plain work for my trigger pull, and work really well I might add. I'm refering to the SA/DA trigger everyone seens to hate. Try it for yourself. You might be turned off by them at first but after you practice with them a little, you might come to appreciate their genius.
CZ97 is a nice looking pistol for sure. It will definitely be heavier. Even though the HK45 and USP45 have lighter polymer frames they dont seem to recoil anymore than any other 1911. So I wouldnt assume the heaver all steel CZ will recoil any less.CRPA and NRA member.

I bought the beginning of the newer run (BG date code I believe) in late 2016 because I prefer it's proportions to the standard USP (I have a full size USP 9 as well). I enjoy it very much and it's as accurate as I am as a shooter. If you're in the Bay Area, you're more than welcome to shoot mine.
As of current, they are as low as 850$ (before tax and fees). I bought mine for retail for an OTD price of nearly 1300$ and I still have no regrets. Have put a couple thousand rounds through it now and added a TLR-4 as my nightstand gun. I do prefer the standard dot sights since I don't shoot far and don't need the adjustable sights.Comment

The price for USP expert will get lower.
My buddy bought one for 830 at cross creek.
Riflegear, turners, ammo bros have bunch in stock and they can't get rid of it. I got one for 850 but I think price will get lower. I would buy again if price is 750 to 800.Comment
