Why would someone pick G41 over G21 GEN4 ? Both are big guns , both 45ACP. I know G41 will be harder to carry due to longer slide.

I think it is thinner. It is good for target shooting.Be sure to ask your doctor if depression, rectal bleeding, and suicide are right for you.

Personal preference. The grip is the hard part to conceal not the barrel length. If i remember correctly the 41 and 21 have the same size frame so concealablity should be the same but neither gun is meant for concealed carry. The 41 has a narrower slide so it might be slightly more comfortable iwb but i doubt its a big difference.A SWAT Monkey is a powerful psychological tool. G41 is thinner. I have both G41 and G21G4. They are the exact same frame, but the G41 has a thinner slide. So in that respect, it is similar to what they did with the G30S. The G41 is actually 2.3oz lighter than G21. And the lighter load and thinner slide does make a difference when carrying.
I have the G41 on my permit right now and carry it IWB sometimes and OWB in the winter. I find the G41 easier to carry than a G21.Comment

I agree with Skyhawk I also have both and wonder why I don't sell the gen 4 21. I don't carry either one, but greatly prefer the 41. I think the reason I don't sell the 21 is because it's OD and I do really like my OD Glocks. But I have been known to run the 41 slide on the OD 21 frame, a bastard OD 41 ha ha.Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.Comment

I would say so, the slide on the 21 is a monster. My preferd means of carry is IWB, the main reason I don't carry a 41 or a full size 1911 is that the longer barrel can be a pain when driving. The barrel pushing into the seat cushion can be uncomfortable and irritating, but besides that I don't think the 41 would be a problem. I see both guns being much better for duty or open carry, but the thinner and longer slide of the 41 just makes it a more natural and better shooter for me anyway.Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.Comment

I have both Gen4 G21 and G41. Same exact frame and magazines.
G41 fits in my G19 holsters. G21 is slightly (very slightly) less snappy than the G41....not that I'd call the recoil characteristics of a .45 ACP snappy...but you get what I'm saying.
Sight radius G21 vs G41 - I don't really notice any difference putting rounds on target. Others might, but I don't.
I don't carry either in any self-defense scenario so size isn't really a factor to me. I don't notice the extra slide/barrel length of the G41 once I'm wearing it. I do notice the additional G21 bulk, but it's not enough to make me grab the G41 over the G21.
If I had to get rid of one I'd probably make it the G41 and keep the G21 if only for the sole reason I could do a 10mm conversion on the G21 without buying a slide. Not that I'd probably ever do that...but nice to have that option.
But then again I've read to run really stout 10mm rounds you should consider converting the slide too. . . so I guess the real answer is to buy a G41, G21, AND a G20.

I assumed the G41 would have a heavier slide, but Glock's website confirms I was wrong to assume. Oh well you know what they say when we assume things. The wise man said just find your place

People pick the G41 over the G21 for the same reason they'd pick the G17L over the G17 (longer sight radius).Originally posted by G. Michael HopfHard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.Comment
