    Pivothead camera glasses

    Hello all,

I have been thinking of getting some glasses with a built in camera for some time and eventually started looking at Pivothead.

Looked on their site and found some refurbished Durango glasses so I got one.

First time out with them I realized that the video angle was too low, because I tilt my head down a bit when I shoot. Unfortunately this model doesn't come with a way to see the footage on your phone right away, so I only saw the video when I got home.

Today I went out again, now knowing that I had to hold my head up straight and took some more footage. Obviously much less comfortable than what I am used to.

Reason I am posting here in Hanguns section is because I was shooting handguns while filming and wanted to ask a few questions...

I have seen people record their matches with these glasses and the camera angle doesn't seem to be pointed downward. So is it that I have been doing it all wrong this whole time? As in, tilting my head down when leaning forward?

Or is it that the way the glasses sit on my face? Basically, if you have used these, and your camera footage has the gun centered in the video, do you not tilt your head, or do you tilt your head and still get a good angle?

Those sound heavy and maybe distracting.

I've used those for IDPA matches and car racing. I use a hat and it helps hold the glasses where i want them. Practice at home to find the best angle, talking out loud so you know what is best when you review afterwards.

They are not heavy at all.

Nice. So for shooting, you didn't have to do anything special. They just pointed I'm the correct direction? I guess wearing a hat with a visor would make you not tilt down a whole lot or the visor would obstruct the view.
