    Good input, thanks

AudioPhil did warn me about owning the SBR for life which is why next year I'll only SBR AR types because in the worse case I'm just out lower receiver. I can remove all the valuable parts on an AR with ease and move it to another lower.

I'll but sending in my Form 1 and 4 as soon as I establish residency in Washington next year.

Here in Arizona it's not too hard to drive for an hour or 2 and be all alone in the desert.

Even then, I would recommend everyone get a 22lr can first as it will be the most fun and generally hearing safe. SBR's, I tend to lean more towards pistol caliber over rifle caliber. But everyone has to figure out for themselves what they want when it comes to NFA stuff. Also while it is possible to sell NFA stuff it's best to go into it with the mindset that you will own it for life.

Good points regarding resale potential of SBRs, but with the latest ATF decision and the resurgence of pistol braces, doesn't it make more sense to stick with pistols? Easier to resell, can cross state lines without paper work (where allowed, not into CA for sure) and carried in the car locked and loaded in some states.

Getting suppressors make a lot more sense, thanks for the reminder.

There are a couple cans I will be ordering next month. I'm not real big on sbr's or sbs's personally. Juice just isn't worth the squeeze for me. I "may" sbr an FN ps90. I will buy a subgun for sure though.

Yeah unless it's long range rifles. I'm not to into sbr rifles. Like others mentioned their very cool to own but not very practical for myself. I'm not clearing buildings or homes. I'm not taking tactical rifle training classes. For home defense I'm going to grab one of my pistols with night sights. it's the fastest and easiest to get my hands on in a jiffy. Lol that's just my opinion on sbr rifles. I only want one can for my 6.5 rifle.
Im into grabbing some of the hard to aquire hand guns in 9mm.
          Maybe a sig mpx carbine.
Lmao the scars really dropped in price and I couldn't believe all the ones that showed up in the marketplace. I'd rather have model 16s

I'd get the stamp so I could take the silly barrel extension off the MP5 (clone) and have a proper looking gun. FA would be sweeeet but out of my price range.

That's the curse of being roster exempt, King!

How about stuff even LE cannot get in CA (w/o a cooperative chief), like the B&T APC223 pistol, CZ Bren 806, HK433 that were not available pre 2017?

Not saying that I don't miss some

                  But not many . . .

Only thing I know is that - when living out of CA - my collection would be at least 3 times bigger 🤣

AMEN! I'd drop about 10K before I realized there was no need to grab everything right away as it would all be available to me tomorrow.....oh what a wonderful feeling it must be....color me jealous

I would sell all my off roster guns before I left, then buy them again out of state. Why? Well, aside from the lost DROS fee, I think I would want to recover the CA premium that I originally paid for them, but more importantly, it would allow others to buy them PPT as a middle finger to CA "lawmakers".

But it's possible that once out of state, I would no longer "hoard" guns because I'd know I didn't have to wait 30 days to rebuild a collection and also that I could easily obtain "rare" ones for a reasonable price, instead of how, in CA, you have to hunt for nice guns and then pay a premium on them ... so you have to pounce when they come up.

What I'm thinking is I can have my suppressed SBR with subsonic loads but if everyone else at the range does not then I still have to keep my ears on. From what I know competitions don't allow suppressors either. The NFA stuff seems really cool since we can't get them in CA but once you get them do you really get better use compared to a standard 16" carbine?

Don't get me wrong I still want them, but I'm curious to know how much of it is a cool factor and how much of it is practical. I can totally see using a suppressed SBR 9mm for HD though.
I shoot my SBRs pretty regularly. I only have possession of one can at the moment and it's a 22 but it is useful when you are not at an established range. At the Washoe County Range, I regularly see guys shooting precision rifles with suppressors. I'm waiting on tax stamps for my CZ Evo and Revolution suppressor which should see regular use.

Like Highpower, I went straight from the NV DMV to the local gun store. I bought a PAP M92 which is now an SBR.

For the OP, get a VP9. After you shoot it, you'll realize it's just another polymer framed striker fired gun and you'll wonder what everybody on Calguns was fussing about. Better choices include high end 9mms like the Tanfoglio match guns or more budget friendly gun like the CZ suppressor ready SP-01.

Exactly what I did. A few Californians benefited from some off roster guns I sold them. So screw those cali lawmakers that are only good for sitting in their middle fingers thinking about themselves only.

I already owned a vp9. Nice gun but not that special to me.
