    Need my slide refinished.

I had one of my Glocks cerakoted after I got it milled for an optic.

So I installed the rear sight by gripping it on a vise with delrin soft jaws and drifted the sights with an aluminum punch. Something Ive done multiple times before with no negative effects.

I scratched the finish and took off paint by the sights. Practicing my draw, I also took put a swath of cerakote where it hits the holster.

Bummed. I had no idea cerakote was so lame. Either that or Jagerwerks coating is bogus. I dont know. I wanna get it refinished. Can I send a milled slide back to Glock to refinish? Anyone reliable do an after market tenifer coating?

    Thanks.

You mentioned drawing it from a holster; with that being said I'd leave the finish alone since it'll wear sooner than those that aren't holstered.

PS Cerakote is going to last as long as the prep work was done right.

Yeah...cold cerokote or baked in an oven. It makes a difference.

I have had cerakoting work done by FNG in Camarillo and is far more durable than what you are describing. Maybe the cerakote job you had done was not prepped properly.

Any coating job is only as good as the prep work.

shaffers is correct. It is all about the prep work and the adhesion of the new coating that is why we do all our prep by hand on the base metal then we mil spec parkerize before applying our Cera-Hide. Time consuming but any job worth doing is worth doing right

It sounds like your Cerakote job wasnt the best. It should be fine in a holster. As stated above, I think your prep is the culprit and the slide needs to be sent to someone who can do everything right.

I just received my G19 slide and barrel from H&M Metal Processing in Ohio which is a black nitride treatment. I was very happy with the finish and total turn around time with shipping was less than two weeks.
