    Cleaning a stainless revolver

So, a while back I won a Smith and Wesson revolver, 629 Classic, 6 1/2" with the NRA logo. So anyway, this is the only revolver I own, and also the only stainless gun I own, so I'm not sure if there is anything special I need to do when cleaning it? Any special cleaner? I'll try to post pics later, I can't upload them right now, I'm at work and they block any uploads. Any help would be great.

The toughest thing to get rid of on a stainless revolver is the carbon ring around the cylinder. There's one product that works like magic - Kleen-Bore Lead Away Gun Cloth. It makes cleaning so much easier.

If you need a place to store that gun there's still a bit of room left in my gunsafe, right beside my 4" 629!! Congratulations BTW, that's a pretty neat thing to win. Do you reload?
Things usually turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out.

Auto chrome polish and a stiff bristle nylon brush is what I have found works best on burned areas on stainless.

No, I don't know a thing about reloading, although I'm sure it would save a ton.

I read this thread and since I have a dirty stainless revolver and was near my local auto parts shop, I bought some brake cleaner. It didn't touch the black on the front of the cylinder. I then went to my gun store and bought a Birchwood Casey lead removal cloth. Works like a champ with some elbow grease. The gun store owner told me it also works wonders cleaning fouling from the forcing cone in the barrel. I'm sure the Kleen Bore recommended by bbiggun is just as good. Thanks.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, in practice, there is.
