    Smith and wesson 66-1 2 1/2bbl

I have a model 66-1 2 1/2 barrel. It is missing the entire rear sight assembly. I called s&w and they said all parts are discontinued. I looked at midway and they seem to have the entire rear sight assembly in stock. I'm not sure if the ones offered there are the right one for a 66-1. Not sure what height blade is correct. I'm thinking .146. What should I be looking for? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

You will need an older rear sight assembly, the type that is squared off at the front, the newer style are rounded and not compatible with the older style. Ebay would probably be your best bet, sometimes Numrich has them as well.

Check eBay. This one needs repair but others could turn up http://m.ebay.com/itm/S-W-Stainless-...257Ciid%253A11
        Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

Bowen makes an old style rough country sight. But it needs the hole drilled for the top strap screw

+Parts Store+ Rough Country Old-Style S&W Sight with blank, undrilled tang [RCSWSBL] - This sight is designed to replace the old-style square-tang sights with the small attaching screw found on older Smith & Wesson revolvers. These sights must be drilled for the attachment screw by you or your gunsmith. This service is available from Bowen Classic Arms for an additional $45.00, but we must

These also come in different lengths so you might wanna check the dimension before searching for something that might not fit properly. It should butt up to the front sight rib for instance, it shouldn't be short (I have seen some like this, not pretty).

There is a guy on GB,his name is Mark and he has a lot of S&W older
parts. I've seen complete rear sight assemblies for K frames but it's
                been awhile and not cheap.
