That's frakkin awesome. I kinda wish they had put a sight "channel" on the slide, a la the Colt New Agent -- but I'll take this over the Colt.

dang, all of these pictures and talk of micro 1911s has really got me wanting one. I know that the maintenance on these things has to be more closely watched in comparison to their bigger brothers, but how is the reliability on these pistols? Something to just throw into my jacket pocket on the way to the store seems super convenient.

They're defintely not a "pocket" pistol.

I'm not convinced any auto-loader is a good pocket gun - the Smith model 40 or a similar hammerless/shrouded hammer wheel gun fits that bill, but an autoloader can pick up too much crud in the system - it's a failure waiting to happen, and the .25 to .380 class of pistol doesn't have enough recoil impulse to overcome crud in the system.

Actually, with the possible exception of the alloyed frame Agent I wouldn't think of them as a pocket auto. The AMT Back Up in 45 ACP is smaller but almost as heavy. Not that these won't fit in your pocket, but you'll develop a pronounced lean and the jacket will definitely hang heavy. They require support more than space.

I really like Detonics, my second 1911 was a Mark VII. I miss it, even today . When I see one, I just have to keep hittting the pound key #########.

I have been thinking about getting one of the Detonics USA handguns produced by the now defunct Georgia company, but as stated, they are not on the California roster. Makes acquireing one dificult.
