    Springfield 1911 Magazines

I got myself a springfield loaded coupon which allows me to buy their 7 rounders for 12 bucks each.
Anyone have long term experience with them? Or should i just save my pennies and buy wilson magazines?

OP, I may be the odd ball here, but in my experience with: Kimber factory mags, Colt factory mags, Springfield factory mags, etc. etc. ......they are just fine. I honestly see no reason wasting money on a " designer " magazine when the factory supplied one will do.

Unless of course, you just want to splurge money and announce to the world that you bought an uber-expensive magazine, then, that's a different story.

Been using Springfield 1911 magazines for near thirty years, no problems. Ever.
The loaded coupon offer is a good one.

Did you buy new? I think the Springfield promotion is still going on with 4 free mags.

I had 0 issues with the 7 round mags, they are made by Mecgar I believe. I would only get new magazine if I needed 8 round mag capacity.

Personally, when I had my SA Loaded I did have some trouble with the original magazines it came with. So I did purchase some Tripp mags and they were good to go

Same here. Ever since bought my first 1911 8 yrs ago, a SW1911, I have only used Chip McCormick Power Mag 8 rounders. Never had any ftf of any sort w the 4 1911's I currently own.

The only ftf I ever had was using my SA mags with my TRP I bought few years ago. Then again, it was only one ftf and I hear a lot of great things about SA mags.

I personally just loaded up on CMC 8 rounders since never given me a problem- must have 35-40 laying around.

I have the two that came with mine and I used my coupon to get three more. They work fine.

Then I bought a Wilson and tried those mags and found that I like their mags much more. I bought two Wilson 9mm for my Loaded...and tend to use those more.

The biggest difference for me is that the Wilson mags are easier to load. They both feed just fine.

Maybe try buying one or two Wilson and try it...see what works best for you...tends to be the only thing that really matters....

The SA 7 round mags work great. Especially since they're $12, I would buy a bunch. Mags are consumables. Buy one or two of the Wilson 47D's, an ETM, a Chip McCormack and a Tripp Power Mag. Of the three, See which one your gun likes. Buy more of those when the time comes.

                        Enjoy your SA!!

Bought my SA Loaded 5 years ago. The same deal was offered then so I bought 1/2 dozen. Later I added 6 more and a few Promags. Currently, I have a total of 18 including one that came with my Kimber Custom II TLE. All, repeat all, work fine in both pistols. That's why I totally agree with DArBad
