    XD .45 Mag release difficult

I bought a XD .45 a few weeks ago from turners, The mag will drop free when unloaded, but when I insert a full mag and attempt to released it, its hard as hell. Im talking, turning the gun at a 45 degree angle and putting 10-15lbs of force onto the release. Now I own many a hand gun (1911's. Glocks, Rugers etc etc) none have ever been this hard. I do only have 100 rds through the pistol so maybe it will wear in a little more?

    What say ye?

Oh, yeah that will wear in. Loaded mags put pressure on the release button making it harder to press. After a little time it will get way better.
The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!

Why can't they make a mag release that works properly without a break-in period?

Try pushing up on the mag while depressing the mag release .or leave one round out of the full mag .

It's normal for the XDS… There is a fix for it that require some gunsmithing

Same reason the M&P has a garbage *** trigger and glock feel like a 2x4 in some peoples hands....its not perfect.

I've got an XD-9 and my mag release was pretty rough the first few magazine swaps. It goes away as you continue to use it.

It's normal. I found that it breaks in faster by seating and releasing a bunch of times. My XD9 took about 400-500 rounds to break in but with my .45 (same $320 deal from Turners) I just released and seated a bunch of times and felt it loosening up.

Part of the problem is the gun is designed for 13 round mags. Lots of 10 round mags will barely hold the 10 to make absolutely sure you can't get an 11th round in the mag. This puts extra pressure on the mag release. It should get better as the mags break in.
