    Bait and Switch LGSes

Just feel like venting a little...

Decided to get a Glock 19. I have a flyer from a LGS that offers a 10% discount ("some exclusions apply"). So I contact them online and ask for their price on a G19. They reply: $499.

I bit later I call them, and ask what the coupon is good for. They say it's good on a Glock 19. "The 19 goes for $549... Um, $559." He was trying to make sure it's $499 or more after the coupon.

I'm guessing Glock sets a minimum price of $499, since that seems to be the lowest typical price (aside from GSSF or Blue Label). If so, just say the Glock is excluded. Don't BS me with an inflated price. Annoying.

(And if anyone knows a LGS in NorCal who can sell me a Glock 19 for less than $499, kindly PM me.)

You should've called him out on it and say you were told the price was $499 earlier and that you were calling again to see if the coupon applied to the Glock. Then you should've said if he's trying to add 10% on top of $499 its $548.90.
If someone is trying to bull**** me I call them out then shut it down right then and there.

In the end does it really matter? $499 is about the best price I've seen on a G19 in the last couple years, except one FFL in SoCal who briefly had them for $485 + fees. Is saving $5 here or there going to make you feel that much better? I'd just get the gun for $499. When you put things into perspective and consider all the things that Glock can do, you'll realize its a screamin' deal regardless of the possibly inflated original price.

No one will sell them cheaper than $499 except maybe in October. Some FFLs will get creative and offer free DROS or no tax, so they can still meet the minimum sale price but offer you a discount.

I figured as much, and that's fine. Just tell me Glocks are excluded from the discount. $499 is a fine price.

Yeah should of just said, even with a coupon we can't go lower then $499 on the Glocks. The disclaimer covers that, no need to lie about it.

Mparms often has g19s for 499+tax+dros appointment only.

Just buy it for $499. Tell you what, post pics when you pick it up and I'll send you $5. There you got it for less! Some things are just not worth the whine.

Inside the secret and violent world of Gaston Glock, maker of the most popular firearm in U.S. law enforcement.

According to the 8thish paragraph you shouldn't pay a penny more than $76.00.

That is not bait and switch. What they did and are guilty if is D__baggery.

Don't haggle on the phone. Ask to see one, ask for the price, tellem to bag it and pay for it. Oh, btw, I've got one of your coupons.

The FFL would sell the gun at a loss if they took 10% off $499.
