I am apologize in advance if this is not where this thread is supposed to go as I am new to the forms and still learning to navigate them properly. I recently came across the CZ P-10 C and noticed it is an off roster handgun. I personally do not own any handguns and am slightly confused with all the rules of the off roster list. In short, is their a way around the off roster list besides a PPT via family member from another state or LEO?

No.
(To be precise, you can PPT it from anyone in CA who happens to own one, not just LEOs. Perhaps someone moved to California who already owned the handgun you want.) -

The rules are hard to navigate. So here is my understanding of the alternatives:
1. You could do a Private Party Transfer or PPT. Find someone here in CA that owns the gun and wants to sell it to you. An FFL will still need to do the transaction.
2. A father can transfer a gun to his son or daughter. See Intra-family Transfer for reference.
3. Live out of state for a year, buy guns, and return to CA. You must declare or notify the state of your guns entering. Adherence to CA rules of limited magazines and other conditions will apply.
I realize some of the above is vague. CA is very difficult to deal with regarding guns that are not on the roster. It gets even more complicated with automatic rifles.
There are some people here in Calguns that will guide you. Others just want to slap your hand and send you to the search menu. The real help is some where in between. Don't get discouraged.Comment

Anyone asking questions that have been discussed ad nauseum on all forums... a simple google search would bring up a CalGuns thread pertaining to simple questions such as this. A google search often brings up better answers than trying to use the forum search for new users.Last edited by 9mmContagion; 05-02-2017, 10:44 AM.Comment

I did do a "simple google search" and found posts from 2005. Seeing as how some of those were over a decade old I just wanted further clarification. Now back to "trolling".Anyone asking questions that have been discussed ad nauseum on all forums... a simple google search would bring up a CalGuns thread pertaining to simple questions such as this. Posts that were read which is why I asked if there was a way around off roster handguns via PPT family and LEO. Answer in short is No. Understandably you and others like yourself are more familiar with handgun laws in this state that myself which is why I asked.Comment
