    Which sight tool?

Looking for a sight tool to change sights on several different brands of pistols.
    What is the recommended tool?

I looked round and saw the $45 NC star and the $170 Wheeler seem to be the most prevalent.

    Need it for:
    Sig P220
    Browning HP
    HK P30

    thx!

I just bought the Wheeler and I'm glad I did. Kinda followed the mantra I grew up hearing from my old man... "Buy junk, own junk."
As the great warrior poet Ice Cube once said "If the day does not require an AK, it is good."

Wished I could help. I am looking for one too.
There is the MGW which is supposed to be great but seriously expensive for a Frame, two screws and a few inserts. I think you buy the inserts separately. I have seen this one and it is quality but does not come with inserts for all (most popular) gun types. If you look on eBay, there is more than a few that sell for quite a bit less.

Do you have other sight files and such to fit the sight first?

There's a red anodized one on ebay that is made in the USA for under $70, sent them a message to see if it will work on my applications. The NC star gives me shivers despite the 5 and 4 star reviews.

I'm leaning towards the wheeler though.... but will wait to hear back on the red one.

All the sights are application specific LPA, so thought they would go right on, thinking LPA is a quality brand? I've only had HK sights changed in the past, with meprolight or trijicons and never had to file. I do have metal files if needed

I wonder what people are using in CZs. I have the CZ sight pusher for adjustments but would like a larger unit. Any ideas ?

I made punches out of Delrin for use on pins and poking on guns. Pretty sturdy and even if they break, it is .95 cents worth of Delrin easily re-shaped or replaceable, and not the gun finish getting damaged.
You guessed it. No marks on my guns regardless of the age or round count.

I use delrin when possible - but for some guns, the sights are going to laugh in your face if you hit them with Delrin (S&W Shield). They just are not going to move.

I liberally oil up the area of the slide all around the sight, and the sight itself. Then the brass will not leave permanent transfer marks, they can be wiped away with a cloth. Stubborn brass can be removed with a pencil eraser.

I have changed sights on about 15 of my Glocks, 8 of my Sigs, and a handful of other pistols - and you can't tell with any of them that they were not installed at the factory. All done using brass punch. But yes, you should be fairly confident in your ability to handle a punch and hammer, because as you said - one goof and you might have a gouge.

And on the subject of goofs, I have seen plenty of them made with sight pushers. I would reserve the use of a pusher for the most stubborn of sights, which are few and far between. Unless you work on Shields - some of them are the most difficult.

Buy one for around $60 worked on one pistol but not on the other pistols. Then buy "Brownells nilon punch" 7 bucks worked on all pistols. Brass punch also worked on all pistols.

Shop gunsmithing tools (595) at Brownells, including bench blocks, hammer & punch sets, screwdrivers, and tool kits for firearm maintenance and repairs.

(Notes, when you buy something from Brownells , add this one to the order, it will help shipping cost)

What about that sight-tool.com one on Amazon? It has great reviews and a friend has one, he says it's pretty good.

I had to sacrifice the factory sights to change them out on my Shield.

Just made a deep notch across each one with a cutoff wheel, then knocked out each sight in 2 pieces.

After that, I kinda appreciate that factory Glock sights are made of plastic. Easy to remove.

                            I'm considering this one:

Fast is fine, but accuracy is final!
You must learn to be slow in a hurry.

It's beefier than the one on eBay (thicker) - that is the new leader vs the wheeler.
