    Springfield Ultra compact 1911 .45

Does anyone know how to break down this firearm? I gotta tell ya I'm stumped. I can get the slide off no problem but I do not have a clue how to get the barrel / spring-guide bar out. I will put some pics on later if needed.

If it's the same as the EMP, it should have come with a plastic c-clamp. push the spring from the inside so the guide rod pokes out, clamp the rod, and remove from the inside. Not sure if i'm even somewhat clear, but do you have the manual? it has directions in there.

There was nothing else inside the box when I bought it. Just gun and pipe cleaner. I read the instructions from Springfield website and I just don't get it. I hope someone chimes in with something.

Call SA and tell them it didn't come with the gun and they'll send you one.

I hardly use mine, you CAN just work the spring assy in and out of the slide, it isn't difficult.

I dumped mine a long time ago, but you're supposed to depress the slide spring set somehow, insert this little half circle piece of plastic somewhere up front then wiggle the unit out from the rear.

Personally, I think Detonics got it right the first time.

I figured it out. The recoil spring guide is actually 2 pieces. You take an allen wrench and undo it from the front of the pistol. The you can remove the spring and the barrel from the front. That's several hours of my life I will not get back....
