    1911 grip question

Please suggest the thinnest grips for a 1911 that you know of, preferably not wood.
    Thanks

Pretty sure the 1911 thin grips are all about 3/16" per side versus standard grip thickness which is 1/4". I don't think this changes by manufacturer.

Magpul, my friend has one, surprisingly good for around $10, and very thin.

Magpul 1911 grips are standard thickness, they are .250 (1/4").

Standard thickness VZ grips are .270 and VZ thin grips are .190.

VZ Thin grips are your best bet.

I checked my thin Alumagrips out of curiosity and they are 0.156 making them a hair thinner than the VZ thin grips. That's not really a noticeable difference but technically thinner.

BTW, I have the VZ thin grips with the super scoop on my carry 1911 and really like them.

Do you have a flat or arched main spring housing? What length trigger?

Magpul, They are actually more like an oval shape so the center where the gri screws go they are standard but towards the edges they are thinner. I really like them for $20 can't go wrong. Get the TSP texture.

If you want thin stocks you going to have to change out the bushings for the screws.

Have you ever measured Hogue 1911 grips? They look thinner but not sure if they are?
