+1 for glock for the several reasons already mentioned. Not a beretta hater but glocks have a proven track record. Nothing wrong with the PX4, I just prefer glocks. It's the standard by which other polys are measured against.

So if I'm gonna basically shoot whatever gun as well as any other gun, why not choose the one with easy parts availability, aftermarket support, simple to work on, and a 30 year track record?
There's another thread where a guys VP9 decided to add a hole in the back of the slide. He was in a shooting class. Did he have a 2nd VP9 with him to replace it? Did he have a parts kit to address common parts breakages? I don't know. Hope he didn't have to sit out the rest of the class. A backup Glock or 1911 accompanies me to every shooting class or match.
I do have a spare parts kit in my range bag in case my Glock breaks, and we all know it takes less than 2 minutes to fully detail strip a Glock. How long does it take to fully detail strip a PX4?
I still haven't seen a convincing argument to get a PX4, VP9, M&P, etc over a Glock.
I understand the urge to be special, by having a different gun than everyone else. But get a funny haircut or something instead.
Glocks have an unnatural grip angle, unnatural grip shape (who has square hands?) and polymer sights with an odd sight picture...
Reliable? hell yea, a glock is one of the most reliable polymer handguns made, no question. but just because one gun is reliable, doesn't mean another isn't
by your logic, the world should ONLY drive Honda Civics because they are boring as hell but they work well and are easy to maintain.
I can list 10 reasons why I dont own a Civic.
Some who carry don't trust the lack of safety on the glock, and want a SA/DA style trigger to ensure that first pull MUST be on purpose to minimize opportunity of a ND
Where are the adjustable backstraps on your glock? oh, there are not any? (California models)
So if my hands are uncomfortable on the Glock grip I should just buy it anyways because its reliable? BS
Just because the glock is a great fit for YOU doesn't mean its a great fit for EVERYONE
All that said, I love my Glock 23, as well as my PX4 Storm in 40S&W, but for different reasons. in my hands they are very different guns, and have different features. I shoot the PX4 alot better out of the box. It fits my hands and my shooting style better. thats whats great about having variation.
Conclusion: You dont have to limit your collection to one handgun, if you like different guns for different reasons, get em all.Last edited by Maximus924; 04-10-2017, 11:57 PM.Comment

i love my Px4
low profile levers are the easy fix for the people who don't like slide mounted safeties - you'll never know its there
also, the low profile levers convert the Px4 into a decock only firearm - i never did like the gouge to my thumbs i got from the factory levers
it's really a very nice firearm - my HD first choice

I have glock, ruger, Springfield and Beretta autoloader pistols and they are all good in their own way and they all feel different in my hand. Lately I have been shooting the glocks more than anything, Springfield xd the least.Comment

Dang, the PX4 has been a hot topic so far this month.
Maybe they will replace the CZ as the official Calguns counter (Glock) culture gun?Comment

The anti-Glock CZ fan girls have been working overtime to malign the most popular gun in the world, because clearly the world is wrong and only they know better...
Nothing especially wrong with the PX4, but it has little to recommend it.
Reduced recoil in .40? Who cares, .40 is an increasingly unpopular caliber and a lousy reason to buy any pistol.
If you are a berreta fan and don't care about aftermarket support, the PX4 may be for you...
So many very good full size 9mm's out there that I would consider before the PX4 or even the much vaunted 92F.

I have shot a 92F for decades, so no.
I just find so many other pistols more desirable than the PX4.
Every time I go out of state, I make a point shoot every pistol not available here. I have (and carry) multiple off-roster pistols and would have a PX4 if I so desired.
The PX4 doesn't even make my top 10...
I would take one for free, but I would just prefer so many other choices over any Beretta at this point...Real Californian...Comment

I have nothing against a Beretta. Quite frankly I prefer berettas over glocks but that's just me. You can't go wrong with either of them. It comes down to preference and which one you are more efficient with.Comment

I personally don't have a problem with the slide safety, but it does attract a bunch of ridicule.
SIG SP2022 hands down; the action is smooth as glass. Cheap too! Under $400 for a used 9mm.
If it fits you, H&K USP. $600.Comment

just saying "It sucks, get any other gun" doesn't help anyone. Providing useful alternatives would be helpful for potential buyers.Comment
