    RIA 1911 Tactical

Opinion needed on RIA 1911 Tactical pistol. I got to look at one at a local gun shop and the price was $510.00, I think this is pretty fair. Anyone own one or have experience with RIA pistol here. Some comments are very much appreciated.:

I've heard great things about them, they do have a high opinion here. Price may be a little high however. I'm not sure.

Mine does not like the ACT-MAG (Novak) mags that ship with it, lots of nose-down feeding into the ramp (normal ball ammo). Wilson Combat 47D mags solved all my problems, feeds just fine. I replaced the grips with some double-diamond checkered Chip McCormicks for a nicer grip and painted the front flourescent as well. Mine shoots low, though - I think the front sight is too high and needs filed down.

How's the slide to frame fit and tightness of the RIA pistols?

My RIA Tactical only came with one factory issued Act-Mag.
I bought ten additional Novak/Act-Mags and have not
              experienced any feeding problems

It varies. I checked out two this weekend, a GI and a Tactical. The Tactical was nice and tight, but the GI was a rattler.

The quoted price is not that bad for the Tactical. I have seen a few where the shops are asking near $700. Prices are low on out of state internet sites, but I have never found a local shop that offers good pricing on RIAs. I have a customized GI model and would love to have a Tactical, but I can't justify the price compared to what I have been paying for my Springfields.

They're great shooters/ buy one. Mine is a standard and it shoots better than I deserve.

I own several 1911's and love my RIA Tactical. You cannot go wrong with one. Sounds like they have gone up in price, but still worth it.

I have one as well and it is every bit as good as my Colt's and for the money you can't beat it with a stick!

If you ever make it up to the Sacto area (or just north of it rather) you are welcome to shoot mine to just to make sure it is what you want.

dont buy it thats way too much.

that gun should be 380 bucks man. it was just a few months ago.

go on aim and get a kimber for a couple hundred more.

if we all continue to pay ultra premium for guns, the prices are just gonna go up.

its nuts- a few years ago this gun would be in the 200 dollar range.
