    CZ 75 SP01

I am interested in getting one of these from a custom shop for some gun games. Any members here have one of these??? I would like to order the one from CZ custom but it looks like no CA sales. I have also been talking to Irvington arms about a custom job on one of these beauties. Any recommendations or comments regarding mods etc?

Buy the SP-01 (only CA-legal model) and then have it sent out for a trigger job, and a swap to a competition hammer. You won't need to do anything else (except maybe night sights)

Nice to see a CZ 75 owner!

I was thinking of going all the way with one.
      -Respring/polish trigger job
      -Comp Hammer
      -Remove FPB
      -Recoil reducer
      -FO front sight/ Adj. rear
      -Alluminum thin grips

Basically the works, like the custom model. I was just wondering if anyone has done something similar.

Buy it from Frank with the work done, or buy it and send it to Angus Hobdell http://czcustom.com/index.aspx

My wife shoots IPSC production with an SP-01 from Frank. She loves it (she shot 460/480 at Reed's PPC Monday, and the gun can shoot to whatever the operator gives it), and it's hard to argue with the value. We'll probably be buying a few more, if that means anything.

EDIT: If you shoot production, just remember to retain the DA/SA trigger (some swap to SA only if not shooting IPSC)

          I have one too

The CZ75 SP01 was my very first full sized 9mm 3 years ago; a few months later I purchased a CZ 2075 RAMI also a 9mm. Both are on my carry permit along with my HK USP45FS. All 3 have had triggerjobs; the SP01 and USP45 have extended barrels from EFK Firedragon.

SP01 is awesome out the box, but I agree it needs a good trigger job.
Everyone says Frank @ Irvington Arms does great work with these.

            Hey Leelaw,
If you don't mind me asking, did you change out the barrel on your SP01?
Looks different than the stock one. Nice and shiny

IA already has one custom build already by Frank. I handle it and it feels nice and the trigger pull is about 4 lbs. The sale price I believe is $965 plus taxes and DROS. You will be good to go.
Then mvpatriot, you got to hold on to your wallet, because you will want another SP-01. I got into trouble, I brought one and trick it out myself and then got another one from IA. Now with two SP-01 and both with a trigger pull of 4.25 lbs.

Another good idea... I've never played with one of his, but I've seen nothing but positive feedback.

                    I have a P-01 (the compact).

It was a good gun out of the box. Rugged, reliable, accurate and relatively cheap (picked mine up about two years ago for $350).

Had a trigger job done on it and now it's GREAT!

My only complaint is the weight. A little heavy if you're going to be carrying it all day.

great responses guys, I'm trying to ink a deal for a used one from a member as I type....
Seems these are very underrated pistols, I love my Dan Wesson PM7, so why not stick with CZ.

No, I buffed the barrel to take off that terrible factory finish.

Proud owner of a Matt Mink SP-01. Had the DA/SA converted to SA only, SA straight trigger w/ overtravel set screw, ambi SA thumb safties, competition hammer, competition sights. It's insanely accurate and easy to shoot. Sold my 75B Tactical cuz the SP-01 relegated it to safe queen status.

I have a stock sp-01. It's one of my favorite and threatens to be my most favorite even in stock form. The grip fits me better than glock, sig, MP, and M9's. The only gripe I have is the heavy recoil spring. A softer one makes it more pleasureable to operate over all.

I can imagine that a worked over one would be a treat. I handled one of Frank's work in his shop, and it's very good. I was tempted to spend more money right there right then

                            Edit: Actually, I have 2 stock sp-01s.

sounds like your SP-01 is set up pretty much like my EAA Witness Elite Match in .40 SA straight trigger with over travel screw (trigger is 4lbs max) no movement between slide/frame/barrel what so ever, match grade polygonal rifling barrel, over sized thumb safety, over sized mag release, heart shaped hammer. Only grip i have with the gun is that it's got SHARP edges and is tearing up my brand new leather holster.

BTW, nice 75B Tactical, I havn't shot it yet but will soon.
