    Trijicon HD XRs

Anyone using them? Thoughts? How do they compare to regular HDs?

I've been using the regular HDs on all my pistols. I think the XRs might be an improvement when shooting past 15 yards so I think I'll try them out.

Once OC Custom Coating is done with my Glock 21 SF, they are installing a set of HD XR's. So I'll let you know then.

I have other pistols with the standard HD's, which are great sights. I do tend to prefer a thinner front sight, with more light on either side of it in the sight picture, so I thought I'd slightly prefer the new XR's. We will see.

Excellent. I look forward to hearing what you think and how they compare.

Oh, and I've been considering OC Custom Coatings for my G17...so post pics when it's done.

I greatly appreciate you posting this, however, as I was contemplating these sights. I believe I'll keep looking. Let us know what you ultimately decide to do.

Had the XR's on my Glock, they didn't feel right. The skinny front sight post paired with the U-Notch in the rear, made it difficult to get proper sight alignment. It gave too much daylight on both sides making it hard to tell if you were lined up on both axis. I think the regular box style notch would've been a much better match with the skinny front post for accuracy.

The orange dot is smaller on the XR's and after using these style of sights, I feel the U-Notch deserves a nice big dot in the middle for quick target acquisition. After a few range trips I decided to switch back to the regular HD's and was much better off than with the XR's.

My opinion, Save the few bucks and go with the regular Trijicon HD's. These aren't target sights, I can still shoot out 2-3inch holes at 7,10,15 yards with the trijicon HD's but there are other sights that'll do a better job in that department. For defensive shooting and quick target acquistion, the HD's are my choice of sights hands down.
