    Kahr P380

    To All;
Researched, but did not see the right results.
Own the Sig P238, but looking at the Kahr P380. I see various reviews both good and bad. Is it reliable for the price? Want something small when I'm in Arizona, I like the striker fire as opposed to the P238.,
Has to be California legal; what are you're thoughts?
We're limited in Cali, so let me know what you think.
    Thanks,

I have a PM9 and a non-CA P380. Both have been reliable and comfortable to carry.

Others will chime in soon I'm sure, but I have shot my friend's and it jammed every single time I shot it. It went back to Kahr and it still jammed upon return. He's extremely frustrated with it to say the least. It is very small and seemed like a good option for CCW.

I know batting .500 will get you into the hall of fame, but it can get you into a cemetery too.

Buy a Ruger LCP via PPT. Off roster, but legal to purchase that way.

I owned one for a month. Nothing but FTL,FTE, Stovepipes...
Broken in correctly, did ALL the tricks/ammo changes, etc. Sold it.

Many others have had good results, but many have not.

It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the bottom.

My wife's has had constant malfunctions. It probably has a malfunction (of every conceivable type) every 2 or 3 rounds. It's been back to Kahr twice. It has over 1,000 tortuous rounds down the pipe trying to break it in and diagnose the problems. We finally gave up on it.

She carries either a Glock 42 or a Sig P238 instead. Both work flawlessly.

Had one and it jammed every mag no matter what kind of ammo. Sent it back and they got it back to me doing the exact same. My father also got one after I advised him not to. He thought it was an isolated issue as I thought it could be to and he had the same results.

I have both. The Kahr is ammo sensitive. It does not like bullets with a large flat point. It has never jammed with Hornady critical defense rounds or ball ammo. It has a fairly stiff recoil spring and a different feeling trigger. Recoil is stout for a 380.
I carry the Sig. It is a little larger/heavier, but still fits well in a DeSantis holster in my front pocket. I shoot the Sig better. It is actually fun to shoot. I would only carry the Kahr if I absolutely needed the smallest pistol. I have no reservations with the Kahr with the correct ammo, I just prefer the Sig.

                      Mine works fine.
I run speer gold dot or rem golden saber without issue.
500+ rounds so far - recent purchase for me.

I see often people complain about ftf etc.
Often this is due to a limp wristed grip.
If the pistol is held loosely the recoul is wasted on the entire pistol moving instead of just the slide.
This is a main cause of ftfs in my opinion.

Owned one. Nothing but problems. Waste of hundreds or rounds of various ammo (well beyond break in). Sent to Kahr three times. The third time they issue you a new one. I opted for the PM9 instead. PM9 has been flawless.

I have extra P380 mags, PJ Holster (with CTL) and PJ extra mag pouch as WELL as Crimson Trace Laser for the P380. Just ping me and make respectable price.

Wife has had one for about a year now. Never once has it FTF. She can rock it just like her PM-9.
