    Sphinx SDP Alpha trigger replacement

I really hate the ridges on the trigger of the SDP Alpha. It just bites my finger in an unpleasant way.

Does anybody know a trigger that will fit? Google is not offering up any easy answers.

    CZ maybe?

While the design is much the same as a CZ75 i am unclear on the trigger compatibility. Hopefully another forum member knows. Contacting one of the custom shop may be worth while if the answer dos not pop up here. Ill bet Kriss USA can tell you as well.

Looking at the SPD trigger it seams that you may have the option to remove the trigger and resurface it, then polish it up. This would likely change the color though.

Did you try to change the hammer spring to reduce the pull weight? it may be helpful a little bit. I haven't seen any trigger replacement in the market.

Cajun used to work on the Sphynx SDP, but I believe a couple years ago they stopped.

Here is a video on their spring kit (I can't find it on their website anymore):

And here was a cajunized Sphynx SDP that was for sale on Calguns:

          Some thoughts:

          1. Try applying some clear epoxy and fill the grooves in your existing trigger. Just make sure the grooves are clean and slightly roughed up (sandpaper).

          2. I read that Sphinx licensed the design of the pistol from CZ, so a CZ trigger might work. Might contact one of the CZ Gunsmiths and see if they might have an extra stock trigger they could part with.

          3. Some of the parts for CZ pistols and the Tanfoglio pistols are nearly interchangeable. If the hole diameters and hole spacings are the same perhaps an EAA Witness trigger could be used. You could always go to EAACorp.com and ask if it would work.
