XD9 SubCompact: Quantity of Mags w/ essentials pkg?

I see conflicting info with CA-Legal Springfield XD's Essentials package. Online, Ammo Bros and Turners both show it comes with 1 magazine. Ammo bros actually shows a picture of 1 magazine in the Gun Case.

Yet Rifle Gear, Grab-A-Gun, and many others are indicating it comes with two 10-rd magazines.

Can anyone verify they come with 1 or 2 magazines? Springfield's website only makes reference to the Free-State version with the Hi-Cap Flush and X-tension Mag.

I want to say mine came with one... That was 4 years ago now though... Keep in mind the rebate they are doing gets u 4 mags and a mag holder

I just bought an XD9 V10 from Riflegear. It came with 2 magazines, same as every other handgun I've ever purchased.

This is how they come from the factory. Maybe you're forgetting the one in the gun? Don't know of any FFL that's secretly removing one mag before purchase...

Of course you can always take 30 seconds and actually call your FFL before you go in if you have any doubts.

All that I've seen or bought come with 2. In my local FFL the other day, all of the new ones had 2 mags

I wouldn't think FFL's would secretly remove it either, but some FFL's will state they remove Hi-Cap mags and only replace with one 10-round (or remove them all completely as is the case with some CZ's). Ammobro's picture on their website 100% shows an Empty Pistol with a single magazine and an empty slot where the 2nd magazine would go. The Springfield 1911 Operator I just picked up came with 2 mags, but none were in the pistol itself, both were shipped in the foam cutouts.

I'll go to Turner's at lunch and have them pull one and check it out.

I've never dealt with an FFL swapping 2 standard cap mags for one neutered mag... That's s new one for me. I've had FFLs say either no mags, or they'll block the mags. In that respect its worth checking.

If the gun is a CA version, and the FFL is only giving you one mag, go elsewhere and tell us all who it is.

I guarantee you Turners will two mags inside the box.

Drove to Ammo Bros to ask, the sales guy said he was positive they come with 2 mags, he doesn't know why it shows and says 1 mag. So maybe just some erroneous website data, not that like that doesn't happen.

They probably haven't updated their info in a couple of years. From what I recall, when Springfield first starting doing their "Essentials" packages they would only include 1 magazine. Their full packages came with 2 mags, holster, mag pouch.
Since moving over to only Essentials packages for their XD's they started including 2 magazines.

Read through the posts again and notice some FFL's remove magazines or replace multiple hi-caps with a single 10-round model.

Riflegear's FN Five-Seven CA-Legal Pistol says this:
* Magazine(s) are not included for Restricted States.
Atlantic Firearms: Does not reimburse for removal of high caps and will not include a 10-rd mag.
I've run across a couple smaller FFL's online that noted they replace high caps with a single 10-rounder if the pistol is on Roster, I'll mention those when I run across them again. They aren't being sneaky about it, they clearly state it.

I emailed Springfield's rep this morning, I'm sure she'll come back saying 2 mags. That doesn't always mean what ships from Manufacturer is what is delivered to customer.

OP you make a valid point, but it seems like this could be easily solved with one quick phone call to the FFL you plan to visit.

SA ships guns with two mags. Period. Anything after that is the policy of the individual FFL. If the gun is a CA model, there is nothing to worry about.

Riflegear's CA guns include 2 mags (I just bought one). The only scenario where you get zero mags is if they transfer a gun from their Texas location.

Just bought one 2 months ago. 2 mags. One short one that's flush with the bottom of the grip and one extended to make a full size grip. Both are 10rds.

No, they don't do that. Maybe some people think they do, but they don't...

Springfield has the letters "HC" in the model # for models with Hi-caps. Those models cannot be DROS'd in CA. I tried, when XD40T's were hard to find...

I can tell you 5 yrs ago, when I bought a XD9 essentials for my wife, it came with 2 mags. Last year I was shopping for a XD9SC, and they were only coming with 1 at that time, so your guess is as good as mine.
