    Sight adjustment question

Hello, i have adjustable rear sights on my SA 1911 loaded target model. I am having trouble getting the windage adjustment screw to turn, does angone have experince with this style of sight? Do i need a special tool? The gun came with a little allen wrench that im not sure what it is used for. I read the manual and no where does it show how to adjust the sights. Here is a pic of the sight style for refrence.

Proper size screwdriver and more muscle should do it.

Use a proper gunsmith's interchangeable blade driver. Also it looks like you have a detent holding the screw head. Make sure it's not stuck.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, you're doing it all wrong.

I believe that the allen wrench is to back out the lock pin that prevents the adjustment screw from moving. It should be on the left side of the sight.

Yes that detent seems to be a locking mechanism? Should i push on it wirh something?

The allen key is probably for your adjustable trigger.

As far as adjusting the windage, push that detent in (on the right side) with a small punch or something and turn the screw head with a small screwdriver.

Called manufacture and they said not to push or mess with the detent, they said new sights will be hard to turn initially so they said put more torque on it to turn. Im still weary of this still though

I had a 9mm loaded a while back. It was hard to turn the first time too. Use a proper sized blade .

Look for the piece on the top right corner of the attached picture. My SA 1911 9mm came with that tool.

I went in for a conjugal visit to my Loaded Target and had trouble with the windage adjustment as well. I can confirm that the gun does not come with the 3 headed flat blade adjustment tool. Just 2 ILS keys.... I may go in for another visit and bring a proper flathead with me.

I am just using that picture as an illustration only. So yeah, the sight is different but the tool is the same. Call SA customer service. They may send you one.

                              This might help a little.
