    Handgun Transfer

Sorry if this has been asked before, I'm new here and couldnt find anything about it. Well I'm only 19 and I wanted to get a handgun. I do realize that I cannot legally buy a handgun until I'm 21, but is there another way to own one under 21, such as if I knew someone that had one could they give it to me/transfer it to my name, and would it be legally mine?

Not meaning to sound stupid or anything but when you say gift it to me, does that mean I actually own it, and if so how do I go about doing that?

Parents buy gun, (making sure you don't have a criminal record, plus possess a Handgun Safety Certificate) fill out this, pay $19 to the DOJ within 30 days...done.

Lastly, when going to the range you cannot buy ammo. So have them get it for you.

Ok I'm pretty sure this is my last question pertaining to this. Does it have to be an immediate family member doing the gifting, such as mom or dad, or can it also include a grandparent?

Grandparent or mother or father are all okay. Siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles are excluded.
