    CCW Classes

I'm just wondering what percentage of people who take CCW classes actually get a CCW permit. Anybody got the stats on this one? How about in hard to get counties?

While I think the classes in themselves are a valuable learning resource. I can't help thinking that there are a lot of people out there who take the class expecting to be able to carry, then feel conned when they don't get a permit. What's your opinion?

p.s. if this has been covered please post me a link, thanks.

Don't take the CCW course unless you know for a
fact that you can get one.

Question is which county do you live?
Some counties are easier than other in
    getting the CCW.

Your best bet is to go to http://www.packing.org/state/index.jsp/california
and read up on the subject.

I know that in Orange County (from the SD's website) they do not recommend taking the course until you are approved by them to do so. I've also heard that they prefer apllicants not have out of state non-resident CCW's.
That being said, any firearms training is probably good.

I've read the stats on CCW's issued per capita as well as what percentage of applicants are rejected.

I was thinking more along the lines of how many people out of a 100 person ccw class actually wind up getting a CCW on average. I was just curious if anyone knew.

Thanks for the link Ding. I got a chance to check out the list of exclusions. Also, I saw the issue numbers for San Diego. Man, that was just depressing. Less than 2,000 out of 2,800,000+.
