    Beretta question

Does anyone know why the PX-4 Storm is available only in 9mm and .40 in California, but not in .45? I am looking to buy a .45, and this was a prime choice, but isn't available in this fine state. Any ideas, input or suggestions? Thanks,

I don't know if PX-4 in 45 is available in California. I have shot it at the Beretta USA in Maryland in 2005. They had 3 in the USA at the time as a prototype. It was a very pleasant pistol to shoot. I haven't seen it at the gunshops in CA. I don't mind getting one if it is available.

I don't think the .45 acp version made it in before the "Safe Handgun Roster" was revised to approve only handguns with both a mag disconnect safety and a loaded chamber indicator.

Well schucks, so I guess there's no hope of getting one here then? Any similar suggestions for a first auto, pref. .45?

Maybe I should buy it factory direct as an LEO armorer w/o mag disconnect, and sell it PPT to a private party? Oh, maybe I shouldn't. It is not a safe gun then.
