    just bought a Ruger LCRX

38 Special. My wife had seen the LCR a few months ago. We were in Gilroy Yesterday and she started holding different ones, She likes the lightness of the LCRX, soooo, now it is in jail. I have been reading reviews and watching videos, looks like she made a good choice. The reason for not getting a Semi is that she is compromised due to Surgery and has a hard time racking the slide. She did OK with a Glock 19 a couple of years ago, but she chose this one.

I'm on the fence about getting a regular LCR over a S&W 442. Seems the ruger has less finish issues, a better out of the box trigger, and the comparable (price wise) models to smith are a better value.

      A S&W is a S&W though.

Did you get the snub or the 3" barrel version?

I've got a handful of J frame Smiths, but your LCRx has a much better trigger; smoother and lighter. Congratulations on a nice score.

I'm curious as to what purpose the version with the 3" barrel serves?!? Someone needs a really light full size 5-round 38 special?

My wife had a similar issue racking some of the semis and wanted something with a little less power, so I bought the 22WMR LCR. It does the job, a nice solid little revolver at a reasonable price and seems like a good option for new shooters.

3 Inch barrel, my wife will be shooting it mostly, I told her to pick out my next gun but to get one that she would like to shoot.
